February 9th Dessert Auction to Benefit Youth Programs

Thirty-one enthusiastic guests attended our February 9th Dessert Auction to raise money to support our Youth Programs. Charlie Smith did an amazing comical routine as our auctioneer. He auctioned off 19 desserts and we were able to raise $1,195.00 for our Sea Cadets and other youth programs. A little down from last years auction when we had 45 guests & raised $1500.00. Still a very successful evening. 

We had two first time guests from new Community Affiliate member First Command Finanical Services who raved about our auction.

Many, many thanks to the following who made this event such a success:

Carson Jones, our new Vice President, Operations, who organized her first event.
JeannieStraight, Council Secretary, for inviting her charming neighbors who not only brought, but purchased many desserts.
Sam Colville, Council President, for his help with set up, clean up and presiding over his first event as our council President.
Gull Weaver, Council Treasurer, for all her help assisting Carson, set up, clean up and locking up the Sub Museum.
Keith Post, for allowing us to use the Sub Museum as our venue.
Cheryl Aston, Vice President, Sea Services & Family Support, for taking reservations, checking in everybody at the door, and making sure everybody gave the right amount of money.

And, thanks to all the members who showed up for good food, fellowship and to support our Youth Programs.

The Camden-Kings Bay Council will hold its Annual Dessert Auction to benefit our Council's Youth Programs on Thursday, February 9, 2017, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the St. Marys Submarine Museum. The cost is $20.00 per person which includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine, soft drinks, and the opportunity to take home one (or more!) of the delicious desserts up for auction.

To attend, please send your check in the proper amount - made payable to "Camden - Kings Bay Navy League Council" - along with the names of those in your group to:

Reservations are due no later than February 6th.

All members, whether you will attend the Auction or not, are encouraged to donate a dessert for the Auction. The more desserts we have - the more money we will raise for our Youth Programs. Please send an email to Jeannie Straight if you will be bringing a dessert to the event, or if you would like to drop one off or have us pick it up from you on February 9th.

If you're unable to attend the Auction, and don't feel like baking, you can make a monetary donation to help support our ongoing youth programs. Please send your check to Cheryl at her address above and write "Youth Programs" on the memo line. All donations - including desserts - are tax deductible.
