July 12th Lake City (FL) VA Medical Center Visit
Thanks to the generosity of many we were able to collect and deliver some much needed supplies. We also collected $1,015.00 in cash donations which went toward purchasing additional supplies for the vets at the medical center.
Items delivered to the Medical Center on 7/12 were (10) books of U.S. stamps, (10) $10.00 Walmart gift cards, (2) large coolers, (6) cases coffee, body wash, deodorant, shaving cream, games, clothes, lots of hospice room snacks, and (10) beautiful military themed side bed caddies handmade by brand new Navy League Council member Jan Conkright. Pictured below left is Jan's husband Tom Conkright and Navy League Council member Cheryl Aston holding two of the side bed caddies. THANK YOU Jan and Tom!
Also during our visit at the Medical Center we assisted the veterans and staff with playing BINGO which was a lot fun for all. Our Council donated $300.00 in "canteen bucks" as prizes. Canteen bucks are dollar booklets of coupons which the medical center patients use to purchase things at the store within the facility.
Here are some photos from our Council's July 12th visit to the VA Medical Center.
