September 23rd BBQ for Officers and Crew of HSM Vigilant POSTPONED until October 6th
Hurricane Irma delayed the arrival of HMS VIGILANT and we have been forced to postpone our planned BBQ for the officers and crew, originally set for this Saturday, September 23rd, until Friday, October 6th.
All other details remain as previously announced. The BBQ is being co-hosted by our Council and the James J. Brown VFW POST 8385 and will be held at the VFW Post, 150 N. Camden Woods Parkway, Kingsland. Festivities start at 5:00 p.m. and will include food, drink, a cash bar, and fellowship with our cousins from across the pond.
There is NO CHARGE to attend the BBQ; the total cost is being shared by us and the VFW. Contributions to help defray expenses are always appreciated; bring your tax deductible contribution with you on the 23rd, or mail your check payable to "Camden - Kings Bay Navy League" to:
105 Royal Ct
St. Marys, GA 31558
Please write "British BBQ" in the memo field of your check.
Reservations are required so we know how much food to prepare. To RSVP for this special event, please send an email to Cheryl Aston with the names of the people in your group. If you previously RSVP'd for the original date, please take a minute to send Cheryl an email confirming your attendance on the 6th or advising if you cannot attend.
CDR Stuart Armstrong, Commanding Officer of HMS VIGILANT, his fellow officers and crew are excited to leave behind the foul seas of Hurricane Irma and looking forward to joining with VFW and Navy League members for an evening of fun, food and fellowship on October 6th.
